According to the media report, one person from Pune, Dinesh Kukreja, received a call from Airtel. This was a fek call. The caller told Kukreja that if he did not share his SIM card with him, his SIM card would be deactivated. After this Kukreja gave all the information of the SIM card to that person. The SIM information given was linked to their bank account. After this it was asked to send the message to Kukreja. With this, the person who made the call got access to Kukreja's SIM card. After that the caller took the new SIM card of the same number. He also got access to Kukreja's linked bank account. After this, 93.5 lakh rupees were transferred from his account.

After this incident, Kukreja recorded compliant in Bharti Vidyapeeth police station. The police has registered a case under sections 420 and 419. Inspector Vishnu Tamhane has said that he is investigating this matter. At the same time, they have requested the users not to give other personal information, including OTP, to any other person.
